Sturtevant Dryers belonged to a category known as Air Dryers, drying by evaporation at atmospheric pressure. The Drying Department installed systems for drying coated paper, brick and clay products, leather, varnish, paint, chemical powders, fruit and many other materials. Westinghouse closed this product line in 1945
